The Master's Tools
In the middle of a ballet of vehicles - here instruments of repression as much as objects of fascination - overexcited and rebellious bodies mingle. While some dancers perform the jerky movements of hard-dances popularized on YouTube, others clump together to better resist an injunction to disperse. Further on, a vandalized limousine is the center of a timeless kissing contest. Around this new Raft of the Medusa, a ballet of washing machines erases the slogan “Demain est annulé” (Tomorrow is cancelled) tagged on the ground a few minutes earlier. The camera keeps rolling, and you never know which side of the screen you're on, whether you're at the heart of a demonstration or its representation.
